Aromatherapy & Anointing

  • Anointing with essential oils is an ancient, cross-cultural practice that speaks to something elemental in the human soul. It doesn’t make something sacred—it reveals what is already holy, helping us slow down, reconnect, and remember what matters most. In a world that moves too fast, this embodied ritual creates a sacred pause. It is part prayer, part plant medicine, part energy work—a powerful bridge between nature, spirit, and self.

Plants are our oldest allies in healing. Long before modern medicine, humans turned to the natural world for support. Essential oils are the concentrated intelligence of these plants: biologically active, intoxicatingly fragrant, and deeply effective. They calm the nervous system, lift the mood, ease pain, boost immunity, and open pathways to emotional clarity and inner transformation.

As a certified medical aromatherapist, I work with the purest-quality, ethically-sourced essential oils for everything from migraines and menstrual cramps to skincare, scar healing, insect bites, emotional regulation, perimenopause, insomnia, energetic hygiene, and house cleaning. I also use them in food (refreshing lime spritzers, cardamom coffee, and the most outrageous tea with black cumin oil.) The oils are both practical and profound—trusted tools I use daily for myself, my dog, and my clients. But beyond their functional uses, essential oils are central to my spiritual life. I anoint myself daily to ground, to open my heart, and to tend to the deepest layers of my own healing and embodiment.

I’ve studied the sacred art of anointing for many years, and I teach others how to work with oils in reverence and relationship. This practice is about remembering, about touching what’s true, and about cultivating intimacy with the living world.

I give thanks for all of my aromatherapy and anointing teachers including David Crow, Diana DuBrow and Kat Shuford.

While I could never choose a favorite oil, I did write my final certification paper on Sweetgrass—because I love her with every fiber of my being. These days, I often layer Himalayan Cedarwood and Bulgarian Rose over my heart and chest, and I never leave home without a citrus oil to uplift me and a tree essence to keep me firmly rooted on the earth.

I currently offer personal anointing rituals and 1:1 consultations (both full-length and mini sessions.) I’m also working toward an advanced aromatherapy certification and preparing to launch a new wave of essential oil based offerings—including a subscription service designed to bring plant-based wisdom into your everyday life.

Reach out if you feel called to deepen your relationship with the plant realm for spiritual, emotional or practical purposes.
